This presentation is designed to introduce teachers to the Chalk Talk program and teach them the functions of how the program works. Through the use of the ARCS design of instruction the presentation captures their attention, delivers relevant instruction material, builds their confidence, and leaves them satisfied because the skills they are learning will have an impact in instruction (Keller, J.M. (2009). The intention of this professional development session is to show teachers how to use the reading program functions to tailor the learning for their students. Participants will be shown how students are grouped and where they can find intervention materials that will encourage student growth.
